– Very beneficial for the overenthusiastic horse with a sensitive mouth.  Also can help with a horse that is prone to leaning or snatching down.
– The eggbutt cheek is often sourced for horses that are prone to rubbing, especially in the corner of the mouth, as it is more stable and reduces friction.
– Can be ridden with two reins to differentiate between the snaffle and gag action, however most use the gag rein only for maximum lift and control.  For this reason this bit must be used by a rider with an independant seat and good hands.
