The bit is made from oxidized Aurigan, a nickel-free copper alloy, which is a distinctive taste that encourages horses to chew and produce saliva.
The Ultra mouthpiece incorporates a shorter lozenge in the middle of the bit to accommodate the narrow palate, and a 45 degree angle of the link, intended to ensure that the rounded link resets fully on the tongue without squeezing.
